Hygrophila costata

Info

Hygrophila costata is a large-leaved species from South America with narrow leaves. The bright green shining leaves are especially attractive - they form a very nice contrast to dark green plants. Due to its rapid growth and thus higher nutrient consumption, it is an ideal algae preventive plant. Like all stem plants, Hygrophila costata must be regularly shortened. A vigorous pruning encourages the formation of side shoots and thus a compact plant group is created.
