Native to South America, the floating plant Phyllanthus fluitans is a beauty on the water surface of an aquarium. In good lighting, the roundish leaflets turn brown red with intense red roots. In the start-up phase of an aquarium, Phyllanthus is a good recommendation for stabilizing an ecosystem in the living space. If you are lucky, you can also spot the tiny white flowers. The plant also grows very well in the garden pond or water trough - sunny locations with little water movement are preferred.
